Craftivism
Craftivism, first described by writer and activist Betsy Greer in 2003, is the act of using craft as a gentle but powerful way to spark connection, raise questions, and inspire positive social change.
Craftivism matters to me and is important part of what I do. Through textiles and repurposed materials, I explore how we live, what we value, and how we might create a kinder, more sustainable future. Collaboration with other artists and activists is at the heart of this work — together we can spark ideas, build solidarity, and weave change. Craftivism is my way of resisting harm and imagining a better tomorrow, one stitch at a time.
Below are details of different projects I’ve been involved with. These include Irish Visual Artists for Gaza, Roses Against Violence and the Grenfell Memorial Quilt.
